Esprit de Famille Rouge is the estate's long-ageing red. It is vinified and aged in foudres, barriques and demi-muids. In search of greater body, aromatic complexity and ageing potential, this wine is one of the estate's newest creations.
ORIGINS
Esprit de Famille Rouge is made from our oldest Mouvèdre and Grenache vines.
The musts must be sufficiently rich and complex to merit vinification and ageing in foudres and barrels. This method of winemaking has guided our choice of parcel selections.
Terroir
The Mouvèdre and Grenache grapes come from plots planted on deep, hillside clay-limestone soils.
TASTING
Color
Pale yellow, bright and clear.
Nose
Very fragrant, with citrus notes and white flower bouquet.
Palate
Complex with notes of citrus and white stone fruits. Very nice length underscored by crispness.
